Hello,
Andrea, who works for Caitlin Press, has been working very hard to get a new blog site set up and promote my latest book 'Haines Junction'. I will leave my old blog behind and work on this one.
I had an interesting phone call the other day from a lady who lives at Stewart Crossing. She had read 'Haines Junction' and was concerned she was missing something.
She had made a family tree that included the first name Copper for some of the men. I had heard of Copper Joe while on a visit to Burwash and I liked the name so I called a character Copper Johnson.
She said, "I think I missed an entire branch of my family because I've never heard of Copper Johnson."
I said, "Its fiction my dear."
She said, No, I thought it was a true history."
We talked for a while and will meet and have coffee next time she is in town. I took what she said as a compliment.
She encouraged me to interview the elders and write their stories.
